In koyasan with 2 other districts, we stayed in Temple with buddhist monks lived like them for a day. and toured around Koyasan saw many many shrines. :)

Moving

Today I moved to a new host family! They live on the other side of town in Kakogawa-cho. They live in an apartment that is cute tiny. I will sleep in host sister room, she goes to same school, she 15. I changed from a family with two younger brothers to older sister and younger one, english speaking to no english which will help in learning the language. We live next to a prison, thats where the father works. I will have to take the train to school now.

I have had 2 rotary lunches, the last one on the 10th, I had a 5-minute speech. The Kobe rotary club has over 100 members! School is different but I am getting use to it I can only that math numbers, english, P.E., home economics ( we get to make a bag:) ) and calligraphy. After school on Monday I go to tea ceremony club which makes my legs numb, on Friday I have flower arrangement club which I quite enjoy. I have found out that on 20 or 21 of this month I will move to my next host family, not sure who it is yet I will know next week. All I know is that my new host sister goes to my school.

Yesterday,

I had my first Rotary meeting! I did a 3 minute speech in Japanese mostly I didn't know what exactly I was saying, but they said it was good. And it was a district meeting so i got to meet all the other inbound student in the district. I have my next meeting on the 10th but it the kobe club rotary meeting, and i have to do my speech again, only this time it has to be longer, luckily my teacher are here to help me write it! :)

Last Night My host brother Eisuke (15 yrs old) took me to small summer carnival. The games that they play are different. After we went out to sushi house with host family Mika (mother), Norifumi (father), Yoske (9 yrs old brother).

This is the conveyor belt that went by with sushi on it, you take the one that you want. I tried octopus raw it chewy and I didn't like but when cook it much better.

Yesterday I started school at yamate girls school. I had to do a small speech about myself :S. But today I got my uniform, this is me in the summer uniform. I walk to school it takes about 25 minutes ( not all the time). I have to be in school by 8:30 for home room everyday, and you go to home room at the end of everyday aswell.

There are 7 block in school day ending at 3:40, except for tuesday and friday when it only till 6 block end at 2:45. They Put me in grade 1 high school so i will be able to go on a school trip.

Arrived in Kobe

Yesterday I Arrived in Japan:) Today I arrived in Kobe. This is me at the airport with the Rotary members there to greet me. I drove from the airport with my councilor, junior counciler and a teacher from the girls school I will be attending on the 25th. My host family of mom, dad and 2 sons.

Rossland Rotary Good-bye

The Rossland Rotary Club is sponsoring me to go to Kobe, Japan this August:)
